ICC light up Hong Kong with the first ever rugby spirit lightshow
As part of the ongoing celebrations of 40 years of Sevens in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union’s Community Foundation is pleased to announce the first ever ‘Hong Kong’s Rugby Spirit’ light show as part of the International Commerce Centre (ICC) Light and Music Show.
From 20-29 March 2015, Hong Kong residents and the thousands of tourists arriving for the world-famous Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens (27-29 March) will be dazzled by even more evening entertainment as the entire 490-metre high International Commerce Centre façades will be lit up with a special synchronized light show.
Themed ‘Hong Kong’s Rugby Spirit’, the 2-minute show will be played twice nightly at 7.45pm and 9.00pm, immediately after ICC’s ordinary light show.
The show has been especially created to highlight the attributes shared by both Rugby and Hong Kong: determination, teamwork, respect and pride.
This year marks the first time that Rugby has been featured on the award-winning ICC Light and Music Show.
The ICC Light and Music Show is a ground-breaking LED light show that won the Guinness World Record for “The Largest Light and Sound Show on a Single Building”.
Recommended viewing locations for the show include the waterfront promenades from Sheung Wan to Causeway Bay including Tamar Park, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park and the terraces (Podium 3 and 4) of the IFC mall.
ICC is the tallest skyscraper in Hong Kong and will allow the global audience of sevens fans and local community as well as thousands of tourists and visitors to the city to experience this one-of-a-kind attraction alongside Hong Kong’s unparalleled vibrant nightscape.
